About Us

Our mission is to empower young women and their children to live healthy, safe and progressive lives.   We strive to do this by providing them with transitional and/or affordable housing, and equipping them with the necessary tools they need to succeed. As of date we have 5 affordable housing units and 1 transitional home in progress that will house up to 8 at a time. With plans to expand rapidly in the next 5 years.

Our target population is young women and single moms, who struggle with facing homelessness and gaining and maintaining their independence while trying to navigate through life.  Many deal with homelessness due to teen pregnancy, domestic violence, financial hardships and even tragic circumstances. Statistics show that youth are more at risk of homelessness than adults. 75% of runaways are females and it's estimated that the number of pregnant homeless girls are between 6% and 22%. These are alarming numbers.

Fall 2018 we acquired a distressed home, in hopes of converting it into our first transitional home. Over the years we have had volunteers to come alongside our founder, Takeisha Baker, to help with some of the work. But unfortunately during COVID we could no longer have volunteers come together at the home.  We are back in motion with our goal to have the home completed by October 2025. Each family will have their own personal bedroom and we will supply them with needed food, shelter, clothing, advocacy and so much more to align with our mission of well-rounded support. We are building an awesome team of dedicated individuals to help with this effort and asking that you join us.
