We are so excited to announce that we have acquired our first affordable housing 2-unit property. As many of you may already know, part of our mission is to provide housing for those in need. We have wanted to do this through transitional housing and affordable housing. We are so grateful that with the help of grant funds and Community Development financing we have purchased our first 2-unit in Lake County. This is part of our Home Front Initiative and this will be the first of many.
In the last 6 months it has been very difficult for us to get our transitional home completed because most of the work for the Spring and Summer was going to be completed by community partner volunteers, corporate sponsor volunteers and friends and family. Unfortunately due to the Pandemic that could not happen. The organizations were not able to volunteer due to safety measures which has set us back in our completion timeline. Nevertheless, we are so happy that we were able to complete this new acquisition that will be ready for 2 new families within the next 30 days! So grateful for that.
